Lead Teacher / Director

Lavanya Somisetty graduated with a professional degree in cost and management accounting (CMA) , and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Though her career she became passionate about working with children and teaching. She went on to earning a certification in American Montessori Society (AMS). She has 12 years of experience working with children on the top of 24 years parenting experience. She is a trained Montessori teacher, who is passionate about the Montessori philosophy.

Lead Teacher

I'm delighted to introduce Mrs. Hetal Mehta, who will be your child's Lead Teacher this year at Children Choice Montessori Preschool. Mrs. Mehta holds her AMS Montessori certification and a Master's in Business Administration, and brings five years of experience as a Lead Teacher in a professional Montessori preschool setting. She is patient, kind, and has a genuine love for working with children — qualities that make her a wonderful fit for our classroom community.

Mrs. Mehta shared the following about her approach to teaching:

"Throughout my career as a Montessori teacher, I have dedicated myself to fostering independence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning in young children. In my previous role at Lakeview Montessori School, Kirkland, I successfully designed a prepared environment that encouraged self-directed work and respectful social interaction. My teaching philosophy aligns deeply with Dr. Maria Montessori's principles, focusing on careful observation, individualized learning paths, and hands-on discovery. I admire Children Choice Montessori Preschool's commitment to the intellectual and moral development of children, and I am confident that my patience, consistency, and passion for child development will make me a strong fit for this team."
